Little known screenwriter Mickey Fisher is set to make a name for himself in TV circles after his sci-fi project Extant was bid for by film studios before being picked up by Steven Spielberg's Amblin Television.

The 13 episode series is set to air on CBS next summer and Spielberg, along with Vegas producer Greg Walker, are to executive produce. Fisher also wrote, directed and produced indie films Summer Nuts and The King Of Iron Town.
